How technology is changing people's lives

I moved to a separate unfurnished house in the same society-- where I used to share the flat with the two fellows-- along with my sister and brother. Getting it furnished took almost 3 to 4 months and still we are shopping for home whenever we stop by a shop or mall. After one month since we moved here, i called my father to stay with us. Even though I had got his ticket booked, I was wondering what he would do alone after we left home for our offices. He was somebody who never had interest watching TV for long and didn't have any regular activity that kept him engaged. Reading Newspaper could have been one of the solutions to keep him busy but staying in one of the southern cities and being far from the hometown, this solution couldn't help much, for hindi is not a local language here and there are no good Newspapers published in hindi compared to the ones available in north. Something that had never occurred to me rescued us. We got two spare devices-- a tablet and a smartphone that were gifted him to keep. My brother had him get-started using the devices by demonstrating and answering his queries about the functionalities these devices have as he had never used a smartphone. He got him onboarded on the internet and multiple apps being used frequently by us. So the internet rescued us by keeping him busy and getting him connected with all his loved ones and friends. He reads multiple Newspapers and multiple city publications of them online by himself, and uses  WhatsApp like an expert. While he was getting onboarded, I could see a smile on his face getting the information freely in one click -- which could have been received by going some other place and talking to multiple people and most importantly paying for it. This is one of the examples which shows how technology is changing the lives of people and bringing smiles on the faces of people.
